Procedures for Admissions
Step 1 - Send Graduate School application and fee to the Graduate School.
Step 2 - Send all transcripts to the Graduate School as soon as possible.
Step 3 - Have (3) recommendations sent to the Graduate School as soon as possible.
Step 4 - Send Goals Essay and Vita or Resume to the HDFS Department.
Graduate School Application Form
Please submit that form directly to the Graduate School. It must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $35.00.
Transcripts
Please have official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate work sent to the: SDSU Graduate School; Adm. 130, Box 2201; Brookings, SD 57007.
Recommendations
The Family Financial Planning Program requires three references rather than two. You will notice that you complete the first part of the form and the person providing the recommendation for you completes the remainder of the form. They may also attach a letter with additional information. Please ask them to send the original form and attached letter (if submitted) to the Graduate School.
Goals Essay
This is an essay about your goals and not just a short statement. It should elaborate about your professional goals and how you believe that the MS in Family Financial Planning will help you to achieve your goals. Send the goals essay directly to the HDFS Department at NFA 369, Box 2275A; Brookings, SD 57007. The goals essay should be about two pages in length.
Vita or Resume
You can submit either a current Vita or Resume and send directly to the HDFS Department.
